Richard S. Trogdon: June 2014

Having grown up in the Southeast, the son of a college professor, I developed a fascination for the intricacies of both nature and culture. I studied architecture at Georgia Tech and worked for several architectural firms in Atlanta before moving to Savannah Georgia. I have a Master of Anthropology degree from the University of Florida, where I studied the ecological impacts of resettlement on the Maya of Belize and Guatemala. As an adult, I lived in Savannah, Georgia; Washington, D.C.; Gainesville, Florida; Panacea, Florida; and Tallahassee, Florida. As well as working in architectural and engineering offices, I have led natural history trips for Wilderness Southeast, waited tables, designed large scale graphics and furniture, taught environmental education for the Youth Conservation Corp., worked in a boatyard, surveyed both recreational and commercial water craft, served as a teaching assistant in human sexuality at the University of Florida, and sold real estate.
